The first the to decide is whether you want a PC/Windows or Apple platform. Apple computers are extremely user friendly and have remained largely immune from any virus or malware attacks. Next, you will need to decide whether you need a desktop or a laptop. Laptops are the best in terms of portability, but they also come with a higher price tag than do desktops. Desktops are not only less expensive, but more easily upgradeable. If you do decide on a laptop, make sure that the model you choose has a sufficient number of ports (such as USB and FireWire), and peripherals such as DVD and CD players or burners.
